FAQ: About Izaic Yorks & His Books
Welcome! I’m Izaic Yorks, and I write epic fantasy and science fiction with Christian themes. Here are some of the most common questions I get about my work

Epic Fantasy with Christian Themes
What age are your books appropriate for?
It depends on the title:
-
Ascendant: Saga of Valor and Walktall are perfect for teens to adults—plenty of action, heady ideas, and character growth.
-
Aithos: Dragonsfall Cycle is written for older teens and adults, with explicit language and a spicy scene. Think Wheel of Time meets Treasure Planet.
-
Does a Snowflake Make a Sound? is a cozy Christmas ghost story that's absurd, heartfelt, and perfect for the whole family.
Do your books have magic and dragons?
Yes! Expect:
-
Intricate magic systems
-
Ancient relics and world-shaping artifacts
-
The occasional dragon, and plenty of mythic creatures
-
If you love immersive worldbuilding and magic with weight and consequence, you’re in the right place.
Is there strong language?
Yes. My books reflect the real grit and weight of high-stakes worlds. I use strong language where it serves the story.
From a Christian angle: I don’t believe using an expletive is inherently wrong. Biblically, “cursing” referred to calling evil down on others, not necessarily modern slang or swearing.
That said, I write with discernment and purpose.
Are your books overtly Christian?
Not overtly, but my faith shapes everything I write. Expect stories that wrestle with:
-
Virtue
-
Sacrifice
-
Corruption
-
Hope and redemption
Think Tolkien or Lewis: not sermons, but spiritually rich worlds with eternal resonance.
Where can I buy your books?
You can buy my books at:
izaicyorks.com (best way to support me!)
Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Curious
Note: Aithos is exclusive to Amazon in ebook format for now.
Are any of your books on audio?
Yes!
Ascendant: Saga of Valor is available on Audible—narrated by the amazing Kyle Snyder, who gives each character a distinct voice. It's a 20-hour epic—part Mistborn, part 1984.
What’s your writing and development process?
It’s a multi-stage system:
-
First draft
-
Initial cleanup
-
3 rounds of test readers (6–10 readers each)
-
Edits between rounds
-
Professional editing
-
Launch via Kickstarter (great for pre-orders!)
I release at least one book, novella, or anthology every November.
What’s your stance on AI?
I see AI as a creative tool—a author assistant
-
I use it to speed up editing
-
Draft product descriptions and website content
-
Get real-time answers while writing
-
It’s not a replacement for creativity—it’s a productivity booster that helps me write better, faster.
